DIY - Homemade Jam Favors

Jam makes excellent wedding favors! What do you think? Wouldn't you love to receive one of these at a wedding?
I made the wedding tags on my computer, used a jumbo hole puncher with scallop edge to punch them out ( just regular paper). Then I made a matching fig jam label for the top, this one is printed on card stock. I made it larger than my jar lid so I could trace around the lid and cut it out. These are 4oz. jelly jars. I cut strips of green scrap booking paper about 3/4 inch wide and long enough to fit around the jar. I used double sided tape to stick the green strip to my jar. I then used double sided tape to stick on my wedding label. I placed it right over the seam on the green strip to hide it. Next, I removed the outer ring only of the jar lid (not the sealed inner lid) taped down the fig jam label with a rolled over piece of scotch tape and placed the lid ring back on. You don't have to tape the top label down but I found that it moved as I tightened the lid if not. And there ya go a perfect little favor! And very affordable when making the jam yourself!

This jar was such a perfect little model I just couldn't stop taking pictures! The great thing about using scrap booking paper is the fact that the selection of available paper is enormous! You could make these in any color or theme to fit your needs! Like Christmas! Just customize your label too!

DIY Wedding Favors - Wine Bottle Stoppers

Toast Often Wine Stoppers
from DIY Network's Creative Juice

Materials:

wine cork

decorative drawer pull

craft drill

screwdriver

decorative metal initial (found in the scrap booking section of craft stores)

thin wire-edged ribbon

card stock

hole punch

oval punch or scissors

Steps:

1. Drill a hole in the center top of the cork; make sure the hole is slightly larger than the stem of the drawer pull.

2. Use a screwdriver to insert the pull until secure.

3. Punch an oval of card stock or cut an oval by hand. Punch the oval with a hole punch at the center top.

4. Attach a metal initial backed by the card stock oval to the wine stopper with either a thin piece of wire ribbon or a scrapbook metal curlicue. Curl the wire-edged ribbon's ends.

Last Minute Easter Basket Favor

By now all the cute store bought Easter items are gone over and sold out. This is a quick little project that really takes just a few minutes to make.

Aren't these great? Found in Rachel Ray's magazine. Make your own party favors from home! Buy some jumbo chocolate bars (about 5 ounces), then customize wrappers with your name and date. It can't get any easier than this. Simply print, cut, fold and tape. And whamo you have a personalized favor for your event.

How to make your own Jordan Almond Flower Favors

1. Fold the almond holder by pinching wire in the middle of the leaf over jordan almond. Make five. Do not over work the almond holder. They are delicate and can tear. Fold once toward bottom and middle of holder.

2. Group together 5 stamens and fold in half. With floral tape, wrap together about half way up so stamens are loose at top. Again with floral tape, tape stamen bunch to one almond holder. Bend almond holder down to the side so that stamen bunch will be higher than holder.

3. Place the remaining 4 almond holders around the leaf with the stamens, making sure all the petals are facing the same direction. Twist wire stems together and wrap with floral tape at the base of the almond holders.

4. Place two rose leaves at base on opposite sides of flower. Twist wire stems together with the almond holder stems. Wrap with floral tape from base of flower down to end of wire and back up again.

5. Cut ribbon 12-15" long, and tie around stem in a bow. If adding a favor tag, slip card onto stem before tying ribbon.
