Shannon C. Hoffmann (another contributor to the forthcoming book, Famous Family Nights) worked as editor of an award-winning, nationally circulated trade publication while raising three sons alone. These young men inspired her to write, and were the driving force toward achieving her Bachelors of Arts in English with emphasis in professional writing and mass communications. After ten years as a single mother, in 2008 Shannon married the love of her life, Ken, and added three more children to the family to complete their “Brady Bunch.”
Shannon wrote and edited under the pen name Shannon Amy Stockwell for over five years—compiling a broad portfolio of published work for six nationally circulated trade publications devoted to recreation, playground, and lifestyle on local and national levels. Shannon edited Playground magazine for approximately four years, winning an international 2008 Apex Award of Publication Excellence in the Most Improved Journals and Magazines category. In addition to editing and writing, Shannon broadened her professional experience to magazine photography, branching out to more outdoor photography and family portraits.
In January of 2009, Shannon launched her full-time, freelance editing and writing
career. Her new publication, MultipliCity magazine, officially launches May 1st 2009. She says, “MultipliCity is a variety magazine with positive content for all ages - a publication that will share the good. I’m very excited to launch the magazine as I’ve been working toward this since my children were small.”
